TYPES OF APPS & ITS ATTACKS:
What is an App?
An app is an abbreviated form of the word "application." An application is a software program that's designed to perform a specific function directly for the user or, in some cases, for another application program. Apps are of 3 types :
The app which is available in the Playstore
APK (Android Application Package) files or apps
MOD APK
1. The app is available in the Playstore :
The App can be downloaded from the Google Play store. We can find every application in Google play, but google play doesn't allow some apps which are against their security policy. For example the applications like tracking, spying, etc… can't be found in the Play Store.
Google checks each application before they are launched in the play store, they check whether the app is against their security policy or not. And accordingly, they launch the app in the Play store.
If they find any app which is against their security policy then they don't launch that application. And also if they find any app going against their policy after launching then they discard that app from the play store and they send a letter to that particular application's owner stating that the app contains malware or virus. When that company solves the issue, then again the play store launches the app.
Whenever we download any application in any gadget, we have to scan all the permissions that the application asks for, like if we install an app like Netflix or Prime then we have to check why Netflix and prime are asking for the permissions like contacts, camera, location, phone logs, files, etc…
To download Netflix or prime, accepting the permissions is mandatory. We have to reckon that these apps are accessing our data. Whenever any application is asking for permissions other than the required then please don't permit those specific permissions. Because they can take advantage of your data since you have given them access to your data.
NOTE: Don't provide approvals to all the permissions they ask for. Just reckon for a while and give approvals only for the required permissions.
2. APK files or apps :
APK (Android Package/ Android Package Kit) we cant download any APK apps from Google Play store. When Google doesn't accept any particular app to launch in the play store then certain companies develop it into an APK file or APK app and the company launches it in the website.
That is when google play store doesn’t give permission to launch it in the google play store, then the companies changes it into APk and launches in the website. Any APK app cannot be downloaded from the play store because APK is not a secured one.
When we download any APK app then we get a warning, which is shown below.
Whenever you download an APK app you get this alert. It means that APK app is not safe and it will harm your device since they don't maintain end-to-end encryption and we cannot trust APk files. Because when APK files are developed, the company has the complete liberty to use the data of the customer. Whereas in the play store it maintains security policies in which they don't share the data of the customers to 3rd parties/companies.
In APK files they use the data or sell the data to the 3rd party. APK itself is a 3rd party app. When APK is made then the entire control of the app will be in the hands of the company itself.
We can't download any spy apps from the play store but we can download it from APK apps Because the play store doesn't permit those types of apps like spying apps, tracking apps, etc...
When the play store doesn't give permission then the own company will launch its APK app. We can use it on our devices at our own risk.
MOD APK files:
MOD APK files, where we can have access to every cracked app for free. If any app has a premium version or is required to be paid to have access to it in the play store then we can download that app from the browser for free. This is what the MOD APK app is. MOD APK app provides more features than a normal app in the play store like we can use GBwhatsapp for advanced features but this GBwhatsapp is the MOD APK it has more advanced features than normal WhatsApp.
If we see Netflix is a paid app. We can watch movies on that. But if anyone wants to watch movies for free and they can download Redflix it is the MOD APK app where you can watch movies for free and it is the same as Netflix.
MOD APK has the most advanced features but it is harmful too because when we are using any APK or MOD APK app we can't guarantee that the app is safe because it can install viruses, Malware, Spyware, etc…..
In the APK apps, this type of malicious software is installed in APK. When we download any APK app then the malicious software gets installed in our device and it does its job like it takes our data, it spies, it captures your pic, it hacks our phones when we enter the password. Anything can be done when this malicious software is installed in APK’s.
MOD APK apps will give free services to us instead of paid services people who don't want to waste their money in the paid apps then they will use free apps like MOD APKs. In this, we can get free instead of money. We can watch any movie which is present on Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc…..
As it is said, You have to lose something good to get something better. In the same way, If you need access to the premium or paid apps for free, then to have to take the risk. Always remember that if you get anything free, you also get the risk for free, In brief, it is directly proportional to each other. And if it is paid, the more secure it is.
We can have access to so many free VPNs to use but paid VPNs will be more secure than free VPNs.
APK apps can be generated by any person who knows programming and coding. We can also generate APK apps and spy on anyone.
Hackers use APK apps to hack any device. They install payload in the APK and they will name that as Instagram APK or Facebook APK or anything else. Then they send it to the victim's phone and when the victim installs that app, the entire phone gets hacked by the hackers. And he can do anything from anywhere on this Earth. APKs are the most dangerous files which harm our device and sometimes our lives too.
If anyone sends any APK files from WhatsApp or in Gmail then please don't install those files. Because by using some kind of software or some codes hackers install the payload in that file and when payload gets installed in that file then the entire phone gets damaged and it slowly stops the device and it installs its software which hackers installed in those files.
Our phone defense system will get compromised or the payload will off the phone security defense system when payload gets installed in your device. And your security defense system gets off and your phone can't detect any alert, any error or any virus from your device.
When you are trying to install any APK files then you get this
If any app is published on the website that is the APK app or MOD APK app.
If any app is published in the play store or ios store then that is APP.
As I said the hackers will install payload in APK and they send it to the victims. When the victim tries to install the APK then you get this symbol "The App is not installed" we think the some that the application is not installed but we don't know that in the background the payload is running on our device. You will just get this symbol that's it but in the background, the payload is already installed and it is running and you can’t find this payload in your device.
Sometimes hackers will disable the payload apk files when we install the APK and within seconds that APK gets disabled and we cannot find it. It will be hidden the device and it harms our device when it gets installed.
NOTE: Whenever you are downloading any APK files please don't login your any account. It will grab your account details and sell it. Also please don't download any APK files because those are not useful to us. When you think that anything like this is happening to your device then format your device. When you format the device then the malicious software also gets deleted from your device.
